Delivery Worker Carjacked Outside Newark Apartment Building: Police
A carjacker knocked a food delivery worker unconscious and stole his moped, Newark police said.
NEWARK, NJ — A carjacker knocked a food delivery worker unconscious and stole his moped outside an apartment building in Newark last week, authorities announced Tuesday.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the carjacking took place on July 19. Police released the following details about the theft:
“The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. when the worker arrived with a food order at an apartment building on the 900-block of Broad Street. After parking his vehicle in the parking lot, the suspect struck the worker in the back of the head, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious. The suspect took the red 2023 Jiajue Moped and drove away westbound on West Kinney Street, then onto Vine Street.”
