Double Shooting In Newark Claims Teen’s Life: Police
A shooting on Broadway near Grafton Avenue in Newark killed a 17-year-old and left another teen in critical condition, police said.

NEWARK, NJ — A double shooting claimed the life of a 17-year-old victim and left an 18-year-old in critical condition in Newark late Tuesday night, authorities said.
The shooting took place around 11:55 p.m. on the 700-block of Broadway near Grafton Avenue. Jabari Montplaisir, 17, of Newark, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Public Safety Department.
Emergency responders transported the second victim, an 18-year-old male, to University Hospital. He was in critical condition as of Wednesday, authorities said.

No arrests have been made. An investigation continues, police said.
