Double Shooting In Newark Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured: Police
"At this point in the investigation, no arrests have been made," Essex County prosecutors said Friday.

NEWARK, NJ — A double shooting in Newark left one person dead and another injured early Friday morning, authorities said.
The shooting took place around 12:36 a.m. on Hill Street near Court Street, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Police responded to a report of a shooting in progress, arriving on the scene to find Kelly A. Wiley, 27, of Newark, with a fatal gunshot injury. She was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:02 a.m.
A 27-year-old male was also shot but survived his injuries. He was transported to University Hospital and is in stable condition, prosecutors said Friday.

“At this point in the investigation, no arrests have been made,” prosecutors said. “The investigation is currently active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the prosecutor's tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1- 877- 847-7432.”
