Downtown Newark May Get New Barnes and Noble Bookstore: Report
Barnes & Noble Education and Rutgers University-Newark plan to open a new bookstore in Downtown Newark, a report says.

NEWARK, NJ — Barnes & Noble Education and Rutgers University-Newark plan to open a 10,000-square-foot bookstore in Downtown Newark as part of a redevelopment effort at the Hahne & Co. department store site, a report says.
The store – which will be open to the public and will host events such as author signings, open-mic poetry nights and Saturday story hours for children – is expected to open in February, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The news of the coming Barnes & Noble location comes just weeks after Whole Foods announced that it expects to create 110 jobs at a much-anticipated new grocery store set to open in the late winter of 2017 at the Hahnes site.
