East Orange Woman Found Dead in Newark
Body of Latisha Brown found with apparent gunshot wounds
An East Orange woman was fatally shot in Newark Wednesday night, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced.
The body of Latisha Brown, 26, was found in the vicinity of 199 Peshine Ave. in Newark at approximately 11:40 p.m. with apparent gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at University Hospital at 12:02 a.m. The official cause of death is pending autopsy.
At this time, no motive can be disclosed and no suspects have been taken into custody, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly, director of the homicide unit.
