Essex County Police: Woman Killed, $5K Reward To Catch Shooter
Michelle Newkirk, 26, was fatally shot while riding in a car. Essex County police are offering a $5K reward to catch the shooter.

NEWARK, NJ — The Essex County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Michelle Newkirk, 26, of Newark.
According to a statement from Essex County authorities:
“Ms. Newkirk was fatally shot on Aug. 21, 2018 at approximately 2:11 a.m. in front of 35 Norwood Street in the City of Newark. She was a passenger in the rear side of a vehicle that was driving on Norwood Street when gunshots were fired at the vehicle. Ms. Newkirk was struck and killed.”
