Essex County Courts To Celebrate Black History Month: Free Event
The free, public event in Essex County will pay tribute to the theme of "African Americans and the Vote."
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ -- The Essex Vicinage will hold its annual Black History Month program on Thursday, Feb. 27 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the 14th-floor conference room of the Leroy F. Smith Public Safety Building, 60 Nelson Place, Newark.
The theme for the event is “African Americans and the Vote.”
Richard Robinson, chair of the criminal justice committees of the NAACP New Jersey State Conference and the Newark NAACP, will be the keynote speaker. A resident of Newark, Robinson graduated from Stockton University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and has been involved in numerous matters concerning criminal justice and social justice issues throughout New Jersey.

The Newark Boys Chorus will perform the national anthem and other musical selections.
This event is co-sponsored by the vicinage’s Equal Employment Opportunity/ Affirmative Action Advisory Committee and the Essex Vicinage Advisory Committee on Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement.
