UPDATE: St. Michael’s Medical Center Job Fair Reaches Capacity Due To 'Huge Demand'
Essex County College stated that it will be hosting additional job fairs in conjunction with Newark area employers "in the near future."

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Update: Essex County College officials stated on March 13 that due to "a huge demand by the public," registration for the St. Michael's Medical Center and the New Jersey Department of Labor Job Fair, presented by Essex County College, on Thursday, March 16 is closed. In addition, the job fair will not be able to accommodate walk-ins. Officials stated that the college will be hosting additional job fairs in conjunction with area employers "in the near future."

Essex County College, in partnership with St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark and the New Jersey Department of Labor, will host a job fair for open positions at the medical center on Thursday, March 16.

There will be information at the job fair for a wide spectrum of careers ranging from registered nurses, phlebotomists and laboratory techs to mechanics, registrars, clerks and environmental service workers, according to organizers.
The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Essex County College's 4th floor multipurpose room at 303 University Avenue in Newark, organizers stated.

"This job fair is part of our ongoing outreach to our area employers as we work to provide employment opportunities to our students and the community at-large," said Sanghamitra Choudhury, director of the college's Training Inc. program.
Additional partnerships are being developed, Choudhury said.
"These are available jobs at St. Michael's and the job fair is a great opportunity for students and those currently unemployed," said Lina Hollman, coordinator for the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Program for Health Care at the college.
