EMIC is comprised of stakeholders dedicated to educating the community about the safety, importance and benefits of immunizations.

The State Legislature of New Jersey (Essex) recently recognized the Essex Metro Immunization Coalition (EMIC), a flagship initiative of the Partnership for Maternal & Child Health of Northern New Jersey, during National Immunization Awareness Month (August) for its mission to increase timely and age-appropriate immunizations and decrease vaccine preventable diseases in the Greater Newark area. EMIC is comprised of 40+ stakeholders dedicated to educating the community about the safety, importance and benefits of immunizations.

At its September quarterly meeting, EMIC leaders, Chair Joseph V. Schwab, MD Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Rutgers University Medical School, Newark, NJ, Vice Chair Esney Sharpe, President and CEO of the Bessie Mae Women’s Health Center, East Orange, NJ and Liliana Pinete, Chief Operating Officer of the Partnership for Maternal & Child Health of Northern New Jersey, are shown holding the resolution.

The Coalition also recently launched its social media campaign on Facebook/Essex Metro Immunization Coalition, Twitter and Instagram @EssexMetroIC. You can like and follow EMIC as well as join the conversation under the hashtags #HealthyEssexMetro, #GetVaccinated and #VaxWithMe.
