Newark’s Fifth Annual “Latin Family Festival” - “Festival de la Familia Latina” will be held Sunday, September 9th from 1pm – 6pm on Bloomfield Avenue between Lake Street and Clifton Avenue.
La Casa de Don Pedro, in partnership with the City of Newark, is the event host, in celebration of the organization’s 40th Anniversary and in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. The free family centered event is a celebration of music, art and culture, with a variety of activities including live music and entertainment, free health screenings, raffles, arts and crafts, inflatable bouncers, and sports for children.
The event’s community partners include Newark Museum, NJPAC, HUD, Essex County College, UMDNJ, Christ the King Prep School, Peruvian Civic Committee of Newark, Newark Explorers, FOCUS, Seton Hall Prep, Banco Popular, Newark Bears, and many more. Each will host information tables and provide activities for families.

DJ Lady C is emcee of the event with musical performances by Afrocuba Band, Steven Kroon Jazz Band, Yahaya Kamate Traders, and others.
