The First Tee 2012 Spring I Registration Opens Today

THE FIRST TEE, ESSEX COUNTY'S PREMIERE YOUTH GOLF PROGRAM OPENS REGISTRATION TODAY FOR 2012 SPRING SEASON!

The First Tee of Essex County will open registration for the Spring 2012 season this Saturday, March 17, 2012. 

Registration fee is $25 for the 6-week Spring I 2012 Session.  Subsequent sessions (Spring II, Summer, Fall, etc.) incur a $15 registration  fee.

Participants will be able to view the schedule and register for classes online by visiting www.thefirstteemetny.org/essex or in person at Weequahic Park Golf Course at the following times:

Registration Opens:
Saturday, March 17th 9am-5pm

Additional Registration Days:
Monday, March 19th 1-6pm
Wednesday, March 21st 6-8pm
Thursday, March 22nd 6-8pm
Friday, March 23rd 9-6pm

New participants may register for Pee-Wee classes (ages 4-6) (in-person registration only at Weequahic Golf Course) or PLAYer 3-hole classes (ages 7-10).  

New participants ages 11 and up should contact a First Tee staff member at programs@thefirstteemetny.org before registering. Girls only classes will also be offered at the PLAYer and Par levels. 

The First Tee of Essex County was founded in 2006 with the establishment of a Facility at Weequahic Park in Newark through a partnership of the Metropolitan Golf Association Foundation, NJ PGA and the NJ State Golf Association. This program is part of The First Tee of Metropolitan New York, which was founded in 2001 and is based at Mosholu Golf Course in the Bronx, and serves over 5,000 young people in the Tri-State area in active programs and another 25,000 through Golf in Schools.

The First Tee teaches life skills and Nine Core Values to participants through the game of golf.  These values include Honesty, Integrity, Courtesy, Confidence, Respect, Perseverance, Judgment, Responsibility and Sportsmanship and are taught seamlessly with golf instruction through a unique curriculum developed by top educators.
