Turn-Table Tastings is a 1-hour event created by the Sustainability Office of the City of Newark where real food demos, free samplings, and stories about the connection between the African Diaspora’s culinary and musical traditions will be celebrated. Newark chef, Vonda McPherson of Vonda’s Kitchen will provide free samples and recipes of dishes made especially for Turn-Table Tastings between 5-6 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Newark-grown collards, swiss chard, and zucchini from The Greater Newark Conservancy’s urban farm on Court Street will be featured ingredients.
