Ex-High School Basketball Star Charged In N.J. Shooting

The 6 foot 4 inch guard tallied more than 1,000 points in his high school career and earned first-team All-Division honors in 2014.

Newark, NJ – Authorities have charged a former New Jersey high school basketball star with aggravated assault in connection with a November shooting, a report stated.

On Monday, Keywon N. Savage – a former standout player with Central High School in Newark – was arrested in connection with an alleged shooting that took place on South 11th Street in November, NJ.com reported.

Nobody was injured in the alleged shooting, NJ.com stated.

He was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail for multiple assault and weapon possession charges as of Friday, according to the Essex County Inmate Lookup website.

Savage, a 6 foot 4 inch guard, tallied more than 1,000 points in his high school career, which ended in 2014.
