A 26-year-old man died after he was struck by a vehicle that fled the Newark's ironbound section, officials said Tuesday.
Carlos Quezada was hit shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday and later pronounced dead, Essex County Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter told nj.com. We'll have more information when it becomes available.

A teen also was "seriously injured" in a shooting on Ocean Avenue in Jersey City on Tuesday night, according to nj.com.
The shooting was reported near Wilkinson Avenues sometime around 7:30 p.m., and sources have said the victim is a 14-year-old boy who was shot in the abdomen area, according to the report. He was brought to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.

Jersey City is handling the investigation, Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill could not immediately be reached for comment by nj.com. The shooting is at least the third in Jersey City this week.
