Fatal Shooting In Newark Claims Life Of 17-Year-Old: Police
A Newark teen was transported to a nearby hospital after the shooting, where she later died, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A fatal shooting in Newark claimed the life of a 17-year-old victim on Wednesday, authorities said.
An investigation into the death of Nyasia Peppers, 17, of Newark continues, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.

“On Wednesday, June 8 at approximately 11:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the 100-block of Goodwin Avenue in Newark. When they arrived, the victim had already been transported to Newark Beth Israel Hospital, where she subsequently died from her injuries.”
No arrests have been made as of Thursday, police said.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting.
