19-Year-Old Victim Dies After Shooting In Newark
No arrests have been made as of Tuesday, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A fatal shooting claimed the life of a 19-year-old victim in Newark on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
Newark police responded to a building on the 300-block of South 6th Street at 3:40 p.m. after getting a report about a shooting, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Officers found Calvin C. Scott of Newark inside the building suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 8:03 p.m., authorities said.

A police investigation continues. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday, prosecutors said.
