Fatal Shooting In Newark Claims Life Of 33-Year-Old Victim
Police found the victim inside a car with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place during the overnight hours on Monday in Newark, authorities say.
Newark police responded to the 300-block of Avon Avenue around midnight after getting a report about gunfire in the area.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds at the scene inside a white Chrysler 300.

Emergency responders transported the man – later identified as Michael Howard, 33, of Newark – to University Hospital. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital, prosecutors said.
No additional information was immediately available, prosecutors said.
