Fatal Shooting In Newark Kills 1 Victim, Wounds Another: Authorities
A police investigation continues into a shooting that killed one person and seriously wounded another in Essex County.
NEWARK, NJ — A police investigation continues into a shooting that killed one person and seriously wounded another in Newark last weekend, authorities announced Tuesday.
Newark police officers responded to a shooting on the 300-bloock of Bloomfield Avenue at 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Officers found two men with gunshot wounds at the scene.

One victim – later identified as Alvis Jottanael Perez-Lirlano 33, of Elizabeth – was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 6:53 a.m. on Sunday.
The second victim is in stable medical condition, authorities said.
