Fatal Shooting In Newark Kills Teen, Wounds Adult: Authorities
A police investigation continues. No arrests have been made as of Friday, Essex County prosecutors said.
NEWARK, NJ — A fatal shooting in Newark claimed the life of a teen and wounded an adult on Thursday evening, authorities said.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Newark police officers responded to the 600-block of South 20th Street around 6:30 p.m. after getting a report about a car crash and possible shooting.
The officers found two people with gunshot wounds. A 17-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:52 p.m. An adult male was transported to University Hospital and treated for injuries, authorities said.
