Fatal Shooting In Newark; Man Found In Driveway: Authorities

No arrests have been made. An investigation continues, prosecutors said.

NEWARK, NJ — A fatal shooting claimed a 28-year-old Newark man’s life last weekend, authorities say.

Newark police officers responded to Stuyvesant Avenue at 3:51 p.m. on Sunday after getting a report about gunshots, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Police Department.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Radress S. Wilson, 28, of Newark, in a driveway, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Wilson was pronounced dead at 4:19 p.m. at the scene, authorities said.

No arrests have been made as of Monday, prosecutors said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting.
