Fatal Shooting In Newark, Man Found With Multiple Gunshot Wounds
The victim was found on Bergen Street. He was shot multiple times, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A fatal shooting took place in Newark on Wednesday night, authorities say.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, a woman flagged down a Newark police patrol unit around 7 p.m. on Bergen Street and told officers that someone had been shot.
Police found Alkadeem Dortch, 29, of Newark, with multiple gunshot wounds on the 800-block of Bergen Street. He was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 7:46 p.m.
