Fetus Reportedly Found At Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission Facility In Newark

The fetus was allegedly discovered in a sewer intake screen at the Wilson Avenue facility, authorities say.

NEWARK, NJ — Detectives in Essex County are investigating reports that a fetus may have been found at a Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission facility in Newark, authorities say.

A spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said that a fetus was allegedly discovered in a sewer intake screen this afternoon at the facility at 600 Wilson Avenue.

Authorities didn’t release any additional information about the incident.

The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission serves 1.4 million residents in the 48 municipalities of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Union and Passaic Counties, according to its website.
