Film Screening In Newark: Systemic Barriers, 911 Calls, EMS Corps
A screening and panel discussion of "Freedom House" will take place at the Newark Museum of Art on Nov. 6.

GreenLight Fund Greater Newark, a nonprofit network dedicated to transforming the lives of children, young adults, and families in urban areas, will host a documentary screening of “Freedom House” and panel discussion on Monday, November 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Newark Museum of Art.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka and GreenLight Fund Greater Newark Executive Director Tish Johnson-Jones, JD, will provide opening remarks at 7 p.m., the documentary screening will take place at 7:30 p.m., and the panel discussions will kick off at 8 p.m.

The documentary details the systemic barriers historically underserved communities face, highlighting how the original 911 operating system neglected communities of color and the importance and origins of the modern-day EMS system. Immediately following the screening, health care leaders and community leaders will participate in a panel discussion to share their reactions to the documentary and discuss how new programs like EMS Corps Newark will help create jobs and break down barriers.
