Fire At Industrial Building Kills Man In Essex County, Investigation Continues

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — An investigation continues after a fire at an industrial building claimed a man’s life on Monday in Irvington, authorities say.

The fatal fire took place around 3 a.m. at 286-298 Coit Street, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Irvington Department of Public Safety.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported, authorities said.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation, prosecutors said. No additional details were available as of Tuesday morning.
