Flight Crew's 'Breathing Problems' Prompts Emergency Landing At Newark Airport

United Airlines Flight 936 made a precautionary landing in Newark on its way to Zurich on Sunday night.

A United Airline flight on its way to Zurich made an emergency stopover at Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday night after four members of its flight crew complained of “breathing problems.”

Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo told Patch that the plane made a precautionary landing around 11 p.m.

After landing, authorities inspected the flight and made an evaluation of the cabin and cargo areas before clearing the scene.

There were no complaints of illness from anyone except the original four flight members, all of whom refused medical attention once on the ground, Pentangelo said.
