A hard rain's gonna fall in Newark this weekend, forecasters say.
NEWARK, NJ — A hard rain’s gonna fall in Newark this weekend, weather forecasters predict.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a Flood Watch will be in effect for the Newark area from Saturday morning through late Saturday night. A total of 2.5 to 3.5 inches of rain is in the forecast, with higher amounts possible.
“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” forecasters said, adding that creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
