Free Family Summer Movies Return In Newark’s Central Ward For 2023

NEWARK, NJ — Free movie screenings will return this summer at CityPlex 12 in Newark.

The local movie theater at 360-394 Springfield Avenue will be bringing back its summer movie series, which is open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seating is limited. Learn more here.

Doors open at 9 a.m. and movies start at 10 a.m. on the following dates:

• July 4 and 5 – Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank
• July 11 and 12 – Sonic the Hedgehog 2
• July 18 and 19 – Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
• July 25 and 26 – DC League of Super-Pets
• Aug. 2 and 3 – Minions: The Rise of Gru
• Aug. 9 and 10 – Hotel Transylvania: Transformania
• Aug. 16 and 17 – Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile
• Aug. 23 and 24 – The Bad Guys
