‘Friendsgiving’ Turkey, Grocery Giveaway In Newark: Thanksgiving 2023

NEWARK, NJ — The United Community Corporation will host its annual “Friendsgiving” turkey, chicken and grocery distribution event in Newark on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

The giveaway event is open to the public. It will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at the West Side Park Community Center, 600 South 17th Street. Pre-registration is required, and can be done online here.

According to a news release:

“Join us as we come together to spread warmth and gratitude by providing essential meals during this holiday season to community members. Our dedicated staff and volunteers will be on-site to distribute 200 turkeys and chickens, and a variety of groceries, ensuring that everyone in our community can enjoy a festive and nourishing holiday meal. Coronavirus vaccinations will also be available on-site to attendees.”
