Gas Station Owner Shot Dead In Newark On Memorial Day
The fatal shooting took place at the Power Gas Station on West Market Street, authorities say.

Newark, NJ – Authorities are investigating a homicide that took place at a Newark gas station on Memorial Day.
Police responded to a report of a shooting on the 400 block of West Market Street around 4:25 p.m. on May 30, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
After arriving at the area, officers found an unresponsive male – later identified as Davinder Singh, 47, of Iselin – at the Power Gas Station.

Singh, the owner of the gas station, was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 4:42 p.m., authorities stated.
The incident is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department.
