Gunfire On Central Avenue In Newark; No Injuries, Police Say
Officers found a handgun in the area and saw property damage due to gunfire, Newark police said.
NEWARK, NJ — Newark police responded to a report of gunfire on Wednesday afternoon on Central Avenue, authorities said.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, officers responded to a Shot Spotter notification on the 500-block of Central Avenue at 2:50 p.m.
Officers found a handgun in the area and saw property damage due to gunfire. No injuries were reported; a police investigation continues, authorities said.
