Halloween Dog Costume Contest Returns To Branch Brook Park
Essex County will hold three "Strutt Your Mutt" parades for local dog owners, including one at Branch Brook Park.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A popular Halloween dog costume contest will return to Branch Brook Park for 2022.
Essex County will hold three “Strutt Your Mutt” contests and parades for local dog owners, including one at Branch Brook Park, which is located in Newark and Belleville.
Registration for the Branch Brook Park contest will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the park near Heller Parkway. The parade will begin at 10 a.m.

Participation is free. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in a variety of categories. For more information, call 973-268-3500.
“The Essex County Dog Parks have become popular places for dog owners to bring their faithful companions,” Essex County Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. said.

“In turn, the canine costume parades are growing into a favorite Halloween celebration for everyone to enjoy,” he added. “Whether you own a dog or not, we invite you to come see creative costumes worn by dogs of all breeds.”
