Halsey Fest Will Return To Newark In 2023: Music, Food, Activities

NEWARK, NJ — A popular celebration is set to return to Newark for 2023: the Halsey Festival.

This year’s event will take place from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 22 on Halsey Street between Central Avenue and Linden Street, including Bleeker and New streets.

Here’s what to expect, according to a news release from organizers:

“The three-part event series will commence with the BrownMill Anniversary Block Party x Halsey Fest, a vibrant celebration that aims to spotlight the city's talented creatives, artists, entrepreneurs, and local business owners. Hosted by Newark Alliance and the popular lifestyle brand BrownMill Company, this festival will spotlight the culture of Newark with a day filled with activities, food, and music.”

Organizers added:

“Throughout the day, guests will enjoy music by popular DJs such as QuinnBee, Nadus, and bunkr, and several interactive activities for all ages. Attendees will also enjoy an array of experiences including neighborhood public art tours, art workshops, and a farmers market, among others, all led by local organizations, including STEAM URBAN, Newark Arts, Urban Agriculture Cooperative, Have You Met Newark, The Nork Project, and Newark Downtown District. Additionally, guest will enjoy a curated event marketplace featuring Newark’s small businesses such as BrownMill Company, Aya Paper Co., I’m So Yoga, Brick City Pets, Para KIDS! and Sprouts Juice.”
