High-Ranking Newark School Official Resigns: Report
Newark Chief Talent Officer Vanessa Rodriguez has resigned from her position and will be leaving the district, a report says.

Newark, NJ – Newark Chief Talent Officer Vanessa Rodriguez has resigned from her position and will be leaving the district on Jan. 19, according to a report.
Rodriguez stated that she intends to pursue another job opportunity outside the school district in an email to her colleagues, NJ.com reported.
Rodriguez, who earns an annual salary of $118,501, will be replaced on an interim basis by Larisa Shambaugh, the district’s executive director of special initiatives in the talent office, NJ.com stated.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Rodriguez has previously served as Chief Executive Officer of District 79 Alternative Schools and Programs with the NYC Department of Education, Executive Director NYC at New Leaders for New Schools, and Program Director/Institute Director with Teach For America.
