Hit-And-Run Crash In Newark Injures 2 E-Bike Riders: Police

After the vehicle hit the e-bike, it careened into a nearby parked car. The driver then fled the scene, Newark police said.

NEWARK, NJ — A hit-and-run crash injured two people riding an e-bike in Newark on Monday, authorities said.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, officers responded to South Munn Avenue near Plymouth Street at 1:34 a.m. after getting a call that a car struck an e-bike driver and his passenger.

After the vehicle hit the e-bike, it careened into a nearby parked car. The driver then fled the scene, police said.

Emergency responders transported both injured people to University Hospital. Each is reportedly in stable condition, authorities said.

A police investigation continues, authorities said Wednesday.
