Hit-And-Run Crash Injures Irvington Teen, Driver Charged: Authorities
The injured youth was taken to a hospital in Newark, where he was listed in critical condition, Essex County prosecutors said.
IRVINGTON, NJ — Authorities are accusing an Irvington resident of leaving the scene of an accident after he injured a local teen during a hit-and-run last weekend, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office announced Sunday.
Odaniel Exima, 54, was charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Serious Bodily Injuries and Endangering an Injured Victim, prosecutors said.

“On July 8 at 9:47 a.m., police were notified of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on the 1100-block of Grove Street in Irvington. Police arrived and found a boy suffering from injuries.”
The injured youth, a 13-year-old from Irvington, was taken to University Hospital in Newark. He was listed in critical condition, prosecutors said.
