Hit-And-Run Driver Crashes Into Pedestrian In Newark: Police
Newark police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian while they were crossing the street with family members.
NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian while they were crossing the street with family members on Thursday, authorities said.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the crash took place around 8:10 a.m. at Muhammad Ali Avenue and Livingston Street.

“The vehicle, a maroon 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan (New Jersey registration Z59LLR), was traveling eastbound on Muhammad Ali Avenue. When it reached Livingston Street, the driver struck the victim, who was crossing the intersection with family members. The suspect vehicle continued driving towards Irvine Turner Boulevard.”
Newark police released surveillance photos of the vehicle taken at the scene (see below).
