Homicide In Newark: Man Found With Fatal Head Trauma, Lacerations
A police investigation continues, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A man was recently found with fatal head trauma and lacerations on Stone Street in Newark. A police investigation continues, authorities say.
The homicide took place on Friday, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety. Police released the following details about the incident:
“At about 12:25 p.m., Newark police responded to a service call on the 100 block of Stone Street, Newark. Arriving officers located Michael Castro, 40, of Newark, outside at that location suffering from head trauma and lacerations. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:53 p.m.”
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating Castro’s death. Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
