Hundreds Of Free Smoke Detectors Installed At Homes In Newark
Newark firefighters installed hundreds of free smoke detectors at homes in the South Ward of the city with the aid of the American Red Cross
NEWARK, NJ — Newark firefighters recently installed hundreds of free smoke detectors at homes in the South Ward of the city with the aid of the American Red Cross, officials announced Monday.
On Saturday, local firefighters paid visits to 343 homes, installing 216 smoke detectors. In addition, 127 homes that didn’t need new smoke detectors got some fire prevention tips.
