ICC Awarded $500,000 Grant from the Victoria Foundation

Newark, NJ – December 10, 2024 – The Ironbound Community Corporation (ICC) is honored to announce its receipt of a generous $500,000 general operating support grant from the Victoria Foundation. The award was presented during the Victoria Foundation’s Centennial Celebration Gala at The Newark Museum of Art on December 4th, 2024. ICC was one of the seven surprise recipients of the Centennial Impact Award during the event.

The gift will directly support ICC’s economic justice efforts and related programming, enabling the organization to deepen its impact across the Ironbound community and the greater Newark area. This significant contribution underscores the Victoria Foundation’s unwavering commitment to ICC’s work in strengthening community power, fostering economic justice, championing youth resilience, and addressing pressing needs.

“On behalf of the Ironbound Community Corporation, we extend our deepest appreciation to the Victoria Foundation for this extraordinary show of support,” said Hazel Applewhite, ICC Executive Director. “This contribution will enable us to address the ever-evolving community needs, enhance our programs, and further our mission to create a thriving, equitable, safe, and resilient Ironbound for all.”

For over 55 years, ICC has been a steadfast advocate for families in the Ironbound community, fostering equity, opportunity, and systemic change. The support from the Victoria Foundation reinforces the shared mission of both organizations to uplift communities and transform lives.
