An investigation has been launched into the death of a 7-month-old child in Newark, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — An investigation has been launched into the death of an infant in Newark, authorities said.
Police responded to a local home around 9 p.m. on Sunday after getting a report about an unresponsive male child. Emergency responders performed CPR on the 7-month-old infant, who was rushed to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and pronounced dead at 9:52 p.m., according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by an autopsy by Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, prosecutors said. No additional details were immediately available.
