Integrity House to Host 2016 Newark Corporate Run on Wednesday, October 5 in Newark

Annual 5K to Raise Awareness of Substance Use Disorder by Leading Treatment Program in New Jersey

NEWARK, N.J. (October 3, 2016) — On Wednesday, October 5, more than a thousand runners will flood the streets of Newark for one of New Jersey’s most anticipated road race events –The 2016 Newark Corporate Run. A nationally-recognized non-profit substance abuse treatment organization with locations in Newark, Secaucus, Jersey City, Morris Plains, and Toms River, Integrity House hosts this yearly 5K to spread awareness of the growing epidemic of substance use disorder. Participants are encouraged to register for the 5K run/walk by visiting https://runsignup.com/Race/NJ/Newark/NewarkCorporateRun.

The 2016 Newark Corporate Run 5K will be held in downtown Newark, beginning at Washington Park, at 12:15 p.m. Participants can sign up in corporate teams or individually. However, race day registration will only be available for individuals, so teams must register by Sunday, October 2.

Race packets may still be picked up between 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4 at Integrity House, 1093 Broad Street, or on race day at Washington Park beginning at 10:30 a.m. All registered runners will receive an event t-shirt and a free lunch.

Prudential, PSE&G, Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Anheuser-Busch, Rutgers University, and McCarter & English are among the community corporations and organizations participating in this year’s run. All proceeds from the event will benefit Integrity House.

“With the deadly opioid and heroin epidemic facing our nation, this annual event is more important than ever to help to raise awareness about substance use disorders with the hopes of changing the stigma associated with addiction,” said Robert J. The Newark Corporate Run helps make this a possibility.”
