Beyond offering Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapies 7 days a week, and a modern setting dedicated to meeting their needs, “we have created, by design, an environment where our Spanish speaking residents’ recovery is supported by the sounds of their language, and the flavors familiar to them. They feel right at home”, says Ms. Toro.
Pleased with the positive response from the Hispanic community, Vivian Toro Barber indicates that “we have tapped into a powerful resource to advance their rehabilitation and overall health: being able to communicate with the professionals caring for them in their own language – easing their search for the right word in English to describe their symptoms, and completely eliminating the wait time for a medical interpreter.
