Irvington Man, 50, Dies In Newark Shooting: Police
Police are investigating a shooting in Newark that claimed the life of an Irvington resident. No arrests have been made, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Newark that claimed the life of an Irvington resident on Wednesday.
Newark police found Kyle Eley, 50, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the corner of South Orange Avenue and Munn Avenue at 7:02 p.m. He was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 7:26 p.m., according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Public Safety Department.
No arrests have been made as of Thursday, authorities said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting. Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
