South Jersey will be rockin’ on February 27 th , 2025, on Roku and Apple TV network.
This “Jersey Primetime Special” will reveal the hidden secrets of South Jersey. Never before seen video clips of the untold stories of Oz. Behind the scenes interviews with local legends like rock guitarists Jim Mayberry and Jonathan Tidwell from the group, “Whiskey Grin.”
This three-part TV special is derived from a 30-minute AM radio show that ran back in the 1990s and has now been transformed into this special television event.
In addition to the interviews with Mayberry and Tidwell, the show highlights other great guitar players
and amazing, prolific musicians from a variety of musical backgrounds.

The first episode gets fired up when the topic of Prince’s talent entered the conversation, and he was shot down by radio host Kane who said that Prince was overrated.
Jim Mayberry stated that Prince was a great guitarist, and an exceptional musical talent.
While Prince was good, we must ask: Should he be named in the list of the Top 10 guitarists and
musicians of that era? I don't think so but again it's not my era of music. Did Prince have influence in writing songs, the answer is yes.
Was Prince what we call “great?” I guess it's up to one's interpretation.
Kane remarked that although Prince was okay, he never rose musically to the level of a Bob Dylan, or presentation of Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones. Kane said that if he had a choice of a free ticket to see either Prince or Bruce Springsteen, there is no choice – you have to choose “The Boss.”

said Kane. “They’re not in the same league.”
However, Kane did concede that Prince did bring a new style of playing and songwriting to the hybrid
world of pop, rock, and disco.
“I liked his performance on ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps,’ in the 2004 tribute to George Harrison.”
“That was a great performance. Even Tom Petty was smiling, and he was a tough guy to get to smile.”
