Jim Johnson meets with young Essex County moms and nurses at YCS Mother's Day Breakfast

NFP, Infant Early Childhood mental health, healthy parent-child relationships,

In anticipation of Mother’s Day, NJ gubernatorial candidate, Jim Johnson, joined a young mothers’ celebratory breakfast at the YCS Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program in East Orange. Mr. Johnson read a children’s book to the toddlers and talked briefly with their parents. The NFP provides in-home care for 100 young first-time mothers in Essex County. A YCS registered nurse assists each mom through her pregnancy and continues support until the child’s second birthday.

NFP is a national, evidenced-based community health program that has helped tens of thousands inner-city women substantially improve their families’ lives for four decades. YCS also operates a second NFP program in Morris County.
