Laugh For Charity wouldn’t hold up to its name without an all-star cast of comedians. That’s why UCC wanted to ensure it billed some of the best performers in the business that will surely bring the house down for this year’s program, including star comedian and actor Donnell Rawlings of “Chappelle’s Show” fame. The evening’s entertainment will be hosted by Jonathan Martin and feature comedians Mark Viera, John Henton from “Living Single” and Cocoa Brown.
The event provides attendees with a meet-and-greet with the performers, opportunities to engage with fellow community members, dynamic community leaders, and learn about the great work happening in Greater Newark.

“Major issues plague our community; homelessness, food insecurity, affordable housing, youth and senior programming availability, access to affordable healthcare, and much more. That is why UCC is focused on addressing these issues directly and through dynamic partnerships,” said UCC Executive Director Craig Mainor. “We invite you to join us in the mission of Moving People from Dependency to Self-Sufficiency. It's as simple as purchasing a ticket for our Laugh For Charity Casino Night. If you want to do more, consider becoming a sponsor. There are many ways to join the fight.”
UCC’s Laugh For Charity event is a key fundraiser that allows the community action agency to continue offering essential services, including community food pantries, homeless shelters, rental assistance, and youth job training programs, to name a few. By attending this event, attendees are directly supporting these important initiatives. Whether people want to sponsor, attend as an individual or represent an organization, there are various ways to be involved.
Laugh For Charity would not be possible without the generous support of UCC’s sponsors and partners. Some of the sponsors for this year’s event are: Amerigroup, Edison Properties, Boraie Development, The Provident Bank Foundation, Post Polak, P.A., The Hanini Brothers, Daybreak Express, Lemcor, New Community Health Centers, New Jersey Children's Foundation, Option One, Grant Engineering & Construction, Sills Cummis & Gross P.C., United Way of Greater Newark, and contributions made by Friends of UCC.
