Life In The Brick City: NJ PBS Features Newark In 3 Shows

New Jersey's public television network has been taking a look at the diverse culture and history of Newark in several new programs.

NEWARK, NJ — New Jersey’s public television network has been taking a look at the diverse culture and history of Newark with several programs this year.

NJ PBS, which has a headquarters at the Gateway Center in Newark, has featured its home city in three programs:

  • “Look Up with Darley” – A new series pilot exploring the architectural and cultural sites in Newark, from the church Whitney Houston sang in while growing up to the Ironbound, to Newark Liberty Airport’s Building One. Learn more here.
  • “American Songbook At NJPAC,” featuring Melissa Errico and James Monroe Iglehart – Two new episodes of the award-winning music series will debut on Tuesday, June 21 and June 28 at 9:30 p.m. to kick off its fifth season. Learn more here.
  • “21” – A series that investigates change-makers living in New Jersey focused on Essex County, including Fallon Davis, who cultivates self-sustaining communities and encourages a new generation of innovators in Newark through expressive arts and sciences programs for all ages. Learn more here.
