Man, 20, Dies In Newark Shooting; No Arrests Made, Police Say
A fatal shooting in Newark claimed the life of a 20-year-old man last weekend. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A fatal shooting in Newark claimed the life of a 20-year-old man last weekend. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday, authorities said.
Kasson L. Brown, 20, of Newark was fatally shot near South 9th Street and 14th Avenue on Saturday, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:39 p.m.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the shooting. Anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877- 847-7432.
