Missing Man, 21, With Autism Found In Essex County

Authorities asked for the public's help finding a missing 21-year-old Essex County resident who is diagnosed with autism.

NEWARK, NJ — UPDATE: Newark authorities said Thursday that Antonio Reyes was located on the 100-block of Grafton Avenue and is unharmed. Our original article follows below.

Authorities in Essex County are asking for the public’s help finding a missing 21-year-old man who is diagnosed with autism.

The family of Antonio Reyes, 21, of Newark, reported him missing at 12:35 a.m. on Thursday, July 19. He was last seen at 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

“Antonio is autistic and is described as 5 feet 10 inches and 200 pounds, with a light skin-complexion, brown hair and brown eyes,” police said. “While detectives are actively searching for Reyes, we seek the public’s assistance in locating him to quickly return him to his family.”
