Man Beaten, Woman Hit With Brick Outside Restaurant In Essex County: Police
Newark police continue to search for a group of people who allegedly assaulted two victims at a local restaurant.
NEWARK, NJ — Newark police continue to search for a group of people who allegedly assaulted two victims at a local restaurant last month, authorities announced Monday.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the incident took place around 10:30 on April 18 at the Vivo Tapas Kitchen & Lounge on Ferry Street.
Video surveillance captured images of several people who were involved in the assault, authorities said (see photos below).

According to police: “Suspect #1 grabbed a male victim, and Suspect #2 dragged him out of the restaurant and threw him to the ground.”

Meanwhile, a female victim suffered a facial fracture when one of the suspects struck her with a brick as she was exiting the restaurant to check on the male victim, who suffered a broken nose in the attack, police said.
Both victims were taken to University Hospital after the assault, police said.
